Lanterns & Cobwebs
by Randy Nelsen
I saw a Strange Thing today
I walked up to a Door
There was a Lantern near The Door
The Light was Off
The Glass was very Dusty and Clouded
I looked through the Glass
There was a Cobweb
It was wrapped around a Light bulb
The Spider must have left
It had already eaten
In the web I saw dozens of Dead Flies
They must have been attracted to the Light
They were inches from the Light
But they never reached it
I saw a Strange thing Today
I wonder How Many people Come to the Light
They are Drawn to it
And they get very Close to it
I walked up to a Door
There was a Lantern near The Door
The Light was Off
The Glass was very Dusty and Clouded
I looked through the Glass
There was a Cobweb
It was wrapped around a Light bulb
The Spider must have left
It had already eaten
In the web I saw dozens of Dead Flies
They must have been attracted to the Light
They were inches from the Light
But they never reached it
I saw a Strange thing Today
I wonder How Many people Come to the Light
They are Drawn to it
And they get very Close to it
But for some Reason or Another
They end up in a Spiders Web
They end up in a Spiders Web
