Message - Read the Sign

I was at work when the Lord spoke to me. I was riding passenger in
the large delivery truck for a local thrift store. Its my job to help the driver navigate, so its very important that I know the routes and pay careful attention to the street signs and map.
We were going to the dump to get rid of some damaged pieces that couldn't be sold. It was at that time that I saw it. It was just an ordinary street sign, and it said caution. The sign said caution because there was some work being done on the road and the conditions were dangerous. Its funny how God can use one small thing that seems so common or ordinary to speak to us in a special way. The Lord began to speak to me about Signs in a Spiritual context. Signs are used to indicate, show, or warn us of an upcoming event, condition, or situation on the road. There are many different kinds of signs that we see each and every day. I want to discuss road signs and use that as an analogy for some things on our Christian Journey.  Sometimes when we are driving we are in a hurry  to get somewhere. We drive along and all of a sudden we see a sign. The sign might irritate or slow you down, but you need to pay attention to it because that sign is telling you something important. Its the same way in our faith, God will give us a sign. Sometimes its found jumping out of the Bible when we read it, or The Holy Spirit begins to speak within us. That voice is telling us to go this way not that way. Sometimes the sign is spoken through a Friend or a Loved one, sometimes even through a small child. The Sign is in and behind the voice. God can use whatever Voice he chooses to give us that sign or direction for our Life. True Christians are all on the Journey, we are trying to get to Heaven, and trying to Drive and Move forward in the things of God. God shows us Signs on the Road. Sometimes He says Stop, Stop what you're doing don't go this way. The Lord might say Slow down because you are driving to fast, or you are trying to get somewhere spiritually before you are ready. The Lord might put up a sign that says Caution because he knows there is Danger ahead, watch out. You might even see a sign that says no illegal U turns. Maybe you have been moving backwards or turning around and going in the wrong direction Spiritually. Some people are even driving into oncoming traffic, there is a huge sign that says Wrong way. Another sign says Road work ahead. God has a work for you, but you cant stop or get out of the car, because the sign says roadwork ahead. Just do the work he tells you to do. Another sign says Dead End, because the street you are on is a dead, you need to flip a U Turn do a 360 in the Spirit, go the opposite direction.  Its extremely important to look for the signs that God shows you every day of your life. Gods word is the Ultimate sign it tells us the rules of the road. It is like the spiritual Gps that always leads us in the direction of our destination, Heaven. If we follow its directions we may hit a bump, but we will always be headed in right road. In closing I want to share a few scriptures with you.The Pharisees came and began to question Jesus. To test him, they asked him for a sign from heaven. Mark 8:11 Sometimes the most important sign is no sign. We don't always get a sign that is obvious. The Pharisees asked him for a sign to test and prove Jesus, likewise we sometimes ask God to prove something through an obvious sign in our lives. We shouldn't do this we should stop doubting and trust the Lord whether we see a sign or not.If we Trust the Lord then we are operating in Faith, and according to the truth of his Word.Sometimes the Lord does give us a clear sign. The question is do we want to take heed or do we want to take our own route? At other times the sign that God shows us is contrary to our own limited understanding, in other words it just doesn't make any sense to us. Look at what Isaiah was told to do. And the Lord said, As my servant Isaiah has gone unclothed and without shoes for three years as a sign and a wonder to Egypt and Ethiopia Isa 20:3. Sometimes God makes us the sign, as he did Isaiah. We become a sign and an example to others. Our changed Life is the sign and it points the way to Salvation; through the great work of the Lord operating within us. We are the sign, because people remember what the old sign looked like before we were saved. There is a Sign that is above every sign, and that is the sign of the Cross. This sign is an Eternal Memorial. It is beyond our comprehension in its Power to affect and change our lives. If we accept this sign, then we will have eternal life. It is the sign of our salvation  it is the cross and it points to Jesus Christ. Jesus shows us how to receive Eternal Life. If you don't know him all you have to do is say and mean the following Prayer. Jesus I believe that you died on the cross for all of my sins. I believe that you died on the cross and rose to eternal life on the third day. I believe that because you shed your blood for me, I have the free Gift of eternal Life. I ask you Jesus to enter my Heart right now, and save me. Thank you for dying for my all of my sins. Thank you for saving me Jesus, Amen. If you said this and truly meant what you said, then you will have eternal life. You will die someday but that is momentary and it is nothing to fear. After that you will immediately be in Heaven forever, with Jesus and all True Believers. This is the most important decision you will make in your entire Life.I cannot explain how important it is to choose Jesus Today. You are not promised tomorrow, no man or woman knows how long they have to live. You could be gone tomorrow, so choose Eternal Life now my Friends. Congratulations for those of you who have decided today to choose Jesus Christ. Get a Bible as soon as possible, and start reading from the beginning to the end, or from the book of Matthew to the end. Feel free to contact me on Facebook. Pray to the Lord everyday, and you will see him do Great things in your life. God Bless you my friends......
