Rain Shadows
A Rain Shadow is a Natural Phenomenon that occurs when a Region of Mountains blocks a Rain producing weather system. The Rain Shadow is the effect produced on the Lee or opposite side of the incoming weather system. First winds push the clouds toward the mountain range, then the warm air rises and cools as it is pushed over the mountain. At the crest or Top of the mountain the air condenses and precipitates, causing rainfall on the windward side of the mountain. The air that passes over the mountain loses most of its moisture producing a dry weather system, or Rain Shadow on the opposite side of the mountain.
Look at the Video for a better explanation of the process. I want to take the example and natural occurrence of the Rain Shadow and put it in a Spiritual context. What is a Rain Shadow Spiritually Speaking, and what can we learn from it? A Rain Shadow is a Picture of us Spiritually when we don't allow a Mountain or Trial to cause us to grow Spiritually. The Rain Shadow is what we don't want to look like. The Rain Shadow is on the other side of the mountain where we think that our lives will be easier. The Truth is that if the Lord was to remove the Mountain or trial that we are facing, then we would experience Spiritual Dryness the Rain Shadow effect. The Wind Represents The Spirit of God it is the Holy Spirit Moving and Operating in our Lives, it pushes us in the direction and Will of God toward the mountain. The problem is that instead of calling the Holy Spirit what he is, sometimes we just look at him as wind because we look at the opposition instead of focusing on Jesus. The Mountain represents the Trials and difficulties that we face in this life. It becomes much easier to live according to the will of God as soon as we realize that God made that mountain for a reason, and the result of it will be the Rain of his Blessings in our Life. Even though we are tossed back and forth by the Winds of Trial, at the Top of the mountain the clouds will release the Rain of Heaven. Here are a few scriptures that should encourage you. Ask the LORD for rain in the springtime; it is the LORD who makes the storm clouds. He gives showers of rain to men, and plants of the field to everyone. Zech 10:1. He will also send you rain for the seed you sow in the ground, and the food that comes from the land will be rich and plentiful. In that day your cattle will graze in broad meadows.Isa 30:23
The Lord is The maker of the Storm clouds, and with the storm clouds there will be rain and with the mountains there shall be Blessing. With Trial and difficulty growth and prosperity they go hand in hand. It is not for our harm but that we become refined and sharpened. The Lord says For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future Jer 29:11. We must always remember that God will not allow us to go through more than we can bear. The Bible says in 1 Cor 10:13 The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure. We can see clearly and understand that God will not allow the Mountain to be too big God Bless you my Friends.
So he said to me, “This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the LORD Almighty. “What are you, mighty mountain? Before Zerubbabel you will become level ground. Then he will bring out the capstone to shouts of ‘God bless it! God bless it!’”Zech 4:6-7
